First off, it has been a while and took me a littel bit to figure out. I needed TRAVX to come over to my house and figure out where i was going wrong. Anyways here are the steps:
Gather Vietcong discs (for both Vietcong and Fist Alpha Expansion)...also aquire the NoCdBloodpatch www.freewebs.com/vietnameliteteamwork/links.htm, and the "vietcong_v160.exe" www.vietcong-coop.net/ (Click on upper-left "drop window" for patches, and the other drop window for Vietcong)...
Now that you have everything ready, lets do this...
Step 1 - Install Vietcong AND Gamespy Arcade
Step 2 - Go into multiplayer and join any game that appears in black...run around for a few seconds, exit. (this is important as the NoCDBloodpatch will not install correctly if you do not do this step)
Step 3 - Install Vietcong -Fist Alpha expansion and Gamespy Arcade.
Step 4 - exit and double click Gamespy Arcade launcher.
Step 5 - create gamespy id after the stupid advertisement runs.
Step 6 - On left side click on my games. (Vietcong game icon should show up there)...Click on the icon, and wait for the stupid advertisement to end.
Step 7 - Click on "main lobby" link. You will see how many players and servers there are...Close out GameSpyArcade.
Step 8 - Install the "vietcong_v160.exe" (Make sure the Vietcong game is not running before you do this)
Step 9 - Extract NoCdBloodpatch from .rar file (freeware Winrar will do it for you, and some other programs).
Step 10 - Go to your vietcong directory folder (most of the time this is in your C drive/Programs folder...it may be elsewhere depending on where you designated the game folder to be installed).
Step 11 - Cut/paste the vietcong launcher icon onto your desktop (I do this in case i didnt do something correctly in the steps above)...and you can replace that icon back in there if something went wrong from above steps)
Step 12 - cut/paste the launcher icon from the NoCdBloodpatch folder into your vietcong directory folder...
Step 13 - right click, and create a shortcut for that launcher icon. Step 14 - Cut/paste that shortcut icon to your desktop.
Final step - Launch Vietcong game. Now you dont need your cd disc one in the drive for the game to work, game works perfectly,....have a good day!
