Using Total Commander to get a map into the Editor
Open Total Commander
Click the “/ ” buttons on both sides of the user interface
On the left side, navigate to the correct drive-->Program files--> Vietcong-->Maps folder
Setup a folder in your drive to extract files into called “Extractions”
On the left side of Total Commander, navigate to the correct drive-->Program files-->Extractions folder
Locate the mapname.dat you want to extract the levels file from on the left side of Total Commander
Drag this file by selecting and dragging to the right side of Total Commander
A popup screen will appear with the mapname of the file you are dragging across, change the last part of the mapname from .dat to .cbf
On the right side of Total Commander, the file will now appear as a yellow cube, which will allow you to look inside of it…
When you click on the yellow cube the file will open and show you its contents (A “dev” folder and a “levels” folder)…
Inside of the levels folder is the file that you need for the Ptero Editor...
Now, on the left side of Total Commander, click the “/ ” button, and navigate to the correct drive-->Program files-->Vietcong-->Levels folder
Drag the mapname file which is inside of the levels folder (on the right side of Total Commander) to the levels folder on the left side of Total Commander.
Run/Open your PteroEditor...
Select File-->Open-->Mapname.sco
Select Tools-->RebuildTexDB-->File-->Open-->Mapname.sco
Your map and textures should appear, and you are now ready to edit your map…
