Ref to my previous point about pten.exe I wrote this in a thread I started in Pterodon forum (also added my logs):
really cannot understand!!
my experience in software is good enough, and also my 30 years background in editing, but never saw an editor putting so many keys everywhere in the PC.. after uninstalled all, both VC1 and VC2 because noted that some logs / keys of ptero2 are same as ptero3 and might have conflicts, I'm still finding at least 90 keys in registry (with regedit), and several locations with cfg linked to ex pten.exe, such as in Documents and settings, etc..
so I have to say that VC editors are great works, but UNBELIAVABLE to manage them / work with them without a clear and detailed software description.
Now that Indiglow are out, Don is away, who could help modders, working with a software that "just setting the grid value out of standard" crashes an hardware with 1Gb video card and 6 Gb RAM??
and WORST in WORST probably happens that when ptero3 doesn't find a dll library (e.g. corrupted) seek for it everywhere, might be finding it in VC1 editor (same name but maybe different file).. that causes a disaster!!
THIS IS PTERODON FORUM: KNOCK KNOCK... IS THERE ANYONE THAT CAN SAY SOMETHING?
It was already hard enough to translate all from CZ to English (which should be the standard lang...) to work.. now I'm off: all wasted work and 4 months out of the window..
PITY I WAS CREATING A GREAT MAP.. now it's just an unfinished work.
